ASCENT OF THE ICON: ROYAL ENFIELD HIMALAYAN CONTINUES REDEFINING ADVENTURE TOURING WITH RECORD GLOBAL SALES

Marking a defining moment in its journey, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 recorded its strongest year yet, with an annual sales growth of over 53% (excluding India), reinforcing its place as a trusted, go-anywhere machine.

First introduced in 2016, this year celebrating 10 years of production, the Himalayan marked Royal Enfield’s entry into the 400cc segment with an entirely new form factor. One that reimagined capability as an everyday companion, equally at ease on highways, city streets and the road less travelled.

Cementing its position as one of the most loved and capable adventure motorcycles in its class, the motorcycle continues to build an evocative relation between man, machine, and terrain. From its 2016 debut as a purpose-built motorcycle for the Himalayas, to the ground-up reimagined do it all Himalayan 450 launched in 2023, the Himalayan has consistently pushed the boundaries of what a motorcycle can be, from weekend adventure to daily commute, cementing its place as a default choice for riders who refuse to be boxed into one kind of riding.

To further fuel the motorcycle’s momentum, the Himalayan Mana Black was introduced in 2025, a motorcycle inspired by the formidable Mana Pass, known to be one of the world’s most challenging high-altitude routes that strikes the perfect chord with the evolving adventure touring community of riders.

Himalayan Domination - Setting Sales Records

This year has emerged as the strongest yet for the Himalayan 450 globally, with record deliveries to riders across markets. Since its debut in 2016, the platform has grown significantly — from the introduction of the new Himalayan 450 powered by the Sherpa engine at the end of 2023 with over 9,600 units sold that year, to annual global sales surpassing 38,000 units this year — steadily expanding the mid-size adventure touring segment worldwide.

Following its leadership in India’s mid-size adventure segment for a decade, the Himalayan has further bolstered its popularity in markets such as Brazil, where the motorcycle has emerged as the best-selling adventure motorcycle in its class, reflecting its universal appeal and Royal Enfield’s growing global footprint.

Over the past few years in the UK, the Himalayan 450 has covered extraordinary ground. Most recently it has demonstrated its versatile capabilities both on and off-road over the past year, with particular highlights including its use in partnership with the British Army, and a dominant win in the singles class at the Valleys X-Treme Lite event in Wales.

Having circumnavigated the world multiple times, the Himalayan has served as a trusted companion for adventurers and explorers undertaking journeys few motorcycles could endure.

Looking forward, the Himalayan will be among the most prominent motorcycles at the Adventure Bike Rider (ABR) Festival, one of the world’s most celebrated adventure motorcycling events, drawing attention and admiration from riders and enthusiasts globally.

Rooted in the Himalayas, which remain Royal Enfield’s spiritual home, the Himalayan continues to extend beyond the motorcycle through a rich ecosystem of rides and programmes such as the Himalayan Odyssey, along with initiatives like the Great Himalayan Exploration that celebrate journeying across these landscapes. Together, these experiences continue to foster a global community of riders connected by the spirit of pure motorcycling.
